Virtual NLC Information and Schedule — June 29 – July 2

Official Site for National FBLA and FBLA-ML Conference Information:  https://fbla-nlc.org/

Reference Documents:

The registration fee per member participating in $65.

  1. Registration for advisers is complimentary (no charge), but advisers must be properly registered.
  2. Any member may participate, but the member must be officially registered AND paid.
  3. Registration will open April 15.  Registration will close June 8.

There will be Pennsylvania FBLA deadlines for NLC participation that will be coming in a separate email and posted on the PA FBLA website.  Members and advisers must complete the appropriate PA FBLA NLC forms in order to participate.  Why????  The PA FBLA Executive Director must place everyone in the national competitive event registration system prior to May 14.

  1. Advisers register students AND themselves for the Virtual NLC.
  2. Registering students does not place them in national competitive events.
  3. Placement in national competitive events must be done solely and exclusively through the PA FBLA Executive Director.  If a student doesn’t complete the form with the required biographical information from PA FBLA, the student will not be placed in a competitive event.

Advisers MUST be ready to provide the following information when registering students for the Virtual NLC:

  1. Student full name
  2. Student personal email address (remember, don’t provide a school email address as the student may have graduated by the time the NLC is held)
    1. All session login information will be sent to each registrant’s provided email address.  A student and/or adviser must have access to these credentials to participate in various NLC sessions.
  3. Student home mailing address
    1. All awards will be mailed directly to each competitive event winner, not the adviser.

CRITICAL/URGENT/PAY ATTENTION TO THISAdvisers (not the PA FBLA Executive Director or any member of the PA FBLA management team) will be emailed information about your student’s participation in the virtual competitive events.  Advisers need to be prepared to be checking email regularly (even after school dismisses for the summer) and communicate with their registered competing students.  If you miss sharing critical information with your students – I can’t help you.

LIVE PERFORMANCES:  Urgent/Critical/Pay AttentionMost performance competitive events will be conducted live; very few will be pre-recorded and submitted ahead of time.  To the best of my knowledge, the events will be administered during the day (as if you were onsite in Anaheim), possibly between the hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00 pm ET (taking into account that West Coast students).  To the best of my knowledge, nothing will be administered in the evenings.

Who Qualifies?

In nearly all events, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners qualify to represent Pennsylvania FBLA.  Once one of the top four declines to participate, an offer will be made to the next qualifying winner to participate until the Top 10 list is exhausted.  Please plan accordingly and respond promptly if an offer is made to participate.

I have attached a document titled “Competitive Events At-a-Glance, FBLA Division” which identifies who qualifies to complete.  I have also attached the Middle-level document related to competitive events.  Middle-level competitors will follow the same guidelines/timelines.

Remember, in preparation for the Virtual NLC, you must review AND adapt, if necessary, to the National Guidelines.  DO NOT follow the Pennsylvania FBLA guidelines for competitive events, especially the rating sheets.  There are differences.  Rating sheets for all national events can be found at this link:  https://www.fbla-pbl.org/media/FBLA-Rating-Sheets-3.pdf
